Creating a Group for Blister Patients
If your pharmacy fills dosetts for patients on a regular basis, you can use the Groups functionality within PharmaClik Rx to group the patients together and schedule the prescriptions to be processed as a batch.
STEP 1 - Adding Blister as a Group Type
Before adding the Blister group to PharmaClik Rx, Blister should be added the to the Group Type list in List Maintenance. This only needs to be added to your database once.
- Press the More > List Maint button.
- In the 'List Maintenance' window, select Group Types from the drop-down list at the top of the window. The Group Types list will be displayed.
- Press the Add button.
- In the row that is added to the screen, enter DIS in the Code field.
- Enter Blister in the Description field.
- Press the OK button to save the changes and close the window.
STEP 2 - To Create a Blister Group
Once the Blister group type is added, create a Blister group in the Groups folder. You can create as many different groups as you need.
- Press the More > Groups button.
- If the Group Search window does not appear, press the Search button.
- In the Group Name field, enter the name of the group that you are adding.
- Press the Search button.
- Press the New button.
- The Groups folder will open. The Name field is populated with the Group Name that was used in the Group Search window. Make any necessary changes to the Name.
- In the Short field, enter a 5-character short-form for the name of the Group. This is the group’s Short Name.
- In the Type dropdown list, select Blister (Dispill).
- Enter the Address information for the Group.
Note: If patients with various addresses are part of the group, use the pharmacy’s address as the Group’s address.
- Press the Save button.
STEP 3 - Adding Patients to the Group
These steps must be followed for every patient that is added to the group.
- In the Groups Folder, press the Patient tab at the top of the screen.
- Press the Add button.
- In the Patient Search window, search for and select the patient.
- Press the Yes button in the message that asks if you want to carry over the prescriptions for the patient.
- Press the Save button.
Now that the patients are part of a group, their prescriptions can be scheduled for automatic processing. Refer to Scheduling Blister Prescriptions for Refill for information regarding how to schedule the prescriptions.
